Many people want to try to fix their vehicles themselves. There’s nothing wrong with this. In fact, it’s great if you can do it. But most people have questions that come up when they’re doing repairs. They need someone who can answer those questions. Is the Internet a good place to turn?

Most people will find that online support and repair groups are their best bet when trying to get answers about repairing a vehicle. For example, let’s say that you have a Toyota Tundra and you are missing a key Toyota part for the repair. You want to know if 2001 Toyota Tundra parts will work on a 2005 Tundra. That’s a question that you can easily ask on a forum or questions site and get answered by a group of people. The consensus answer is probably safe to go with.

Your other option is to try to get support from mechanics and dealers using the chat functions on their websites. You may get more reliable information this way than you would from the average Joe on a forum. However you may also get sold parts that you don’t really need. When in doubt, get more information from outside sources before proceeding with the repairs.

One of the things that our Fort Worth auto dealership has been doing is looking at ways that we can improve our customer experience.  Since they are the lifeblood of our business, we have taken a very customer centered approach to our business model.

Does this mean that some things have had to change?  You bet.  Sure, some of the changes have been a little awkward, but for the most part, it has meant more sales for the sales team and more profit for the business in general.

Right now, we are looking at ways to make it easier for our customers to buy Mitsubishi parts from us.  Though we have taken orders over the phone for more than a decade, we thought that it was time that we entered the information age and offered them the ability to order parts online.

We are hoping to have the site up shortly and then we will need to listen to our customers carefully to see how we can make it better.  It should increase our sales without having to increase our staffing needs and if it goes as planned, I might just have to pay out bigger Christmas bonuses this year.  I am sure the staff won’t mind that!

Having worked in an aftermarket auto parts store, I can tell you that there is actually a pretty big difference in the quality of parts you get when you buy aftermarket.

During the year I worked in the auto parts industry, I frequently noticed people coming back and saying that the part didn’t fit on their car, especially on older or less common cars.  It was the right part number, and according to the computer catalog it should have fit, but it just didn’t.

One thing that was probably going on here was that aftermarket parts are often made to fit a variety of models of cars.  Because they are interchangeable, the companies save money by streamlining the manufacturing process somewhat.

Another problem is that aftermarket parts generally don’t last as long as genuine Toyota parts, Nissan parts, etc.  This is because the aftermarket companies use substandard materials in order to cut costs.  Aftermarket parts are less expensive for a reason!

The parts you buy for your car really do make a difference.  By purchasing genuine OEM parts you may be spending more money, but it will be money well spent, guaranteed.  What good is that lifetime warranty on an aftermarket part if you have to replace it every year?  Figure out how much more the OEM part would have cost, and then figure out whether the time you are putting into replacing the part every year is worth more than the money you have saved by buying aftermarket!

So next time you are looking for Toyota Highlander parts, think twice before buying aftermarket.  OEM really is worth the extra money!

One of the things that I have wanted to do was buy my child a car when they finished college.  My reasoning for this is that it is a big step in their lives, and a car is a good way to say “thank you” for all of the hard work that they did while in school.  My father bought me a used car, and I wanted to continue that tradition by buying a new car for my son.

I knew what William wanted, but it wasn’t necessarily what I wanted to buy (at least not in the price range that I was thinking).  But I wanted to get something that he would like so I decided to take him out on a Saturday to tour the many dealers that sold new cars in Weatherford.  There were quite a few, but I thought we should take a look at all of them to see if we could find one that interested him.

Maybe it was just a bad day, but there were no cars that piqued his interest.  As disappointing as that was, we had a lot of time to bond, so that was worthwhile.  It made me happy that he just didn’t want to settle, and we made an appointment for this weekend to check out the Fort Worth auto dealers to hopefully find something for him.

Las Vegas provided an exciting, memory making backdrop as we celebrated our marriage nine years ago. We spent our honeymoon in Las Vegas, Nevada and enjoyed ourselves so much that we return their yearly for our anniversary weekend getaway. Taking in the sights and sounds of the city that never sleeps is a great way for my husband and me to reconnect and enjoy time alone without the responsibilities of work, home and family

From the restaurants to night clubs to casinos, we use our Las Vegas rental car to go sightseeing in the area and have gone on excursions to the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. We enjoy seeing a show each year and have gone to several Cirque de Soleil performances. Each year we stay at a different hotel and explore the latest additions and attractions at the hotels in the area. Spending time at the casinos is always fun and it is great when we win some money to spend during our visit.  We enjoy visiting the hotels spa for a massage for my husband and a facial and manicure for me. As we return our car rental in Las Vegas, we reflect on the fun and are always glad we returned to Vegas to celebrate another year of marriage, friendship and love.

I used to be sad a lot.  My coping strategy basically consisted of buying silly things I don’t really need, which turned into a vicious cycle, since my unsteady financial situation contributed more than a little to my general unhappiness.  Now my big hobby involves ordering Toyota parts and Toyota accessories online and installing them on my car.  For awhile I wondered if anything had really changed, but when I thought it through I realized that there were important differences. 

First of all, I spend a lot less money overall.  One of the problems with buying things to feel better about yourself is that no amount of bought things will really satisfy you.  The buying habits of the super rich can attest to that.  With the car work, however, I only buy what I’m going to actually install myself, so that puts a quick limit on it.  It also takes a lot of research and time for me to learn how to do each project before I go to a website for genuine Toyota parts.  Another important difference is that I get my hands dirty.  There’s a unique satisfaction to being productive, to doing a craft that you don’t get from just buying things.  I think that the satisfaction of doing work is a good way to be happy, even if it doesn’t produce anything particularly important.

I wanted to share my experience with car rental Fort Lauderdale airport. First off, there are some companies that are just too aggressive and do not offer enough to warrant it. But, there are some great Florida car hire companies available that you should work with. When you arrive in Fort Lauderdale, you can easily follow the signs to find out where the rental cars are located. It only takes a few minutes to get there and once you do, you will need to find out where your specific company is located.

Hopefully you were able to book your needs in advance. This will help you to save time considerably. In fact, in Florida, you simply need to consider booking in advance. Otherwise, you will stand in some very long lines and become very easily frustrated. I know because this is the mistake that I made. I had to wait my turn and I came in during a more high traffic time. This means that there were plenty of people in front of me already. The good news is that there are some great companies out there that make the process easier, rather than more difficult. I have to say that the people in this region are very helpful.

For those of you who don’t know, I own a small handyman business. I have 5 employees, and we handle an array of residential and commercial construction and repair projects.

Lately, I’ve been giving a lot of thought to how to make my business run more efficiently. The first thing I want to do is outfit my employees’ trucks with truck accessories. Something simple like a new tool box would make life for them so much easier. Rather than having to drag their bag of tools with them every day (and forgetting them sometimes), they can keep everything they need right there on the truck.

I was also thinking about getting some custom mud flaps. Have you ever seen he mud flaps with the business’ information on them? I could use them as advertising for the handyman business. It would be like a rolling advertisement! 

I think I’m going to have a meeting with the guys today to see what they think. I’ll take their suggestions to see which truck accessories they feel would be most helpful. I always say that happy employees make a great company.

I’ll let you know what I end up deciding. Maybe someone can help me design a logo to put on the mud flaps!
